It’s nice to meet you. My name is Noey. I’m a student at Wake Forest University and I’m extremely interested in art of all kinds. I grew up in New York City and went to Avenues The World School for high-school. Having spent my adolescence in Chelsea, I spent lots of time visiting galleries and art exhibitions of all sorts. I’m extremely interested in fashion—both as an art, a culture, and as a business. Since I’ve always been interested in perusing a career in that field, I looked into attending a specialized arts school but decided against it, fearing that I would be cornered with such a specialized degree. I chose to attend Wake Forest University in prioritization of gaining a strong liberal arts foundation and graduating from one of the country’s best schools for Communications.
I am captivated by the world of fashion because of the relentless inner voice that drives artists and designers to create tangible representations of their personal connection with themselves and the world at large. It is a truly unique experience to witness the visual and implicit communication of a story, resonating with people on a deeper level. As someone who appreciates the art of storytelling, I have always been drawn to the power of clothing in bringing color, texture, and identity to life, shaping our perceptions of self and others, and contributing to the evolution of culture and humanity. More specifically, my interest lies in exploring consumerism and the visual arts' impact on popular culture.
